A district with a noble history, it is often off the beaten track for visitors. This gives new inspiration for the next posts. As we approach 8/9 May, the end of the Second World War, there is much to say about how East Berlin has lived these days over the last two years, with growing tensions between Russians and Ukrainians. These tensions use some of the Soviet memorials as their stage. Tschüss!
I enjoy visiting & photographing the remaining Socialist public art in the Berlin area during my visits. Murals, mosaics and so on. I often wonder what the locals think of these relics and what they represent, if anything, to the various communities now living in these places. I look forward to your insights in future posts.
